Scandinavian style, professional campervan conversion. (HYGGE)

This is a fresh new conversion, everything is made from high quality materials and is brand new.

The bed has never been slept in, the kitchen has never been cooked in, the table has never been dined from and the loo has never been sat on!

THE VISION.

Having wild camped throughout Europe myself I wanted to create a vehicle that connects you to nature wherever you decide to park up. For me, overnighting in a beautiful pine forest was one of my favourite places to unwind. So I opted for a conversion using softwood pine cladding to give a natural forest feel. To compliment the real wood interior the kitchen worktop and dining table are both made from solid beech.

I also wanted the layout to make the best use of the space available and incorporate all the appliances to camp in real comfort for long periods of time away from camp sites, while not losing focus on what camping is all about, the great outdoors.

Situating the bed near the rear doors and dining area opposite the sliding side door gives plenty of opportunities to open the camper up and let nature in while relaxing, dining, reading a book or winding down at the end of the day before bed.

The double passenger seat was swapped for a single and the bulkhead removed allowing unrestricted access from the cab into the living area without needing to open the doors and walk outside, which isn’t much fun when it’s cold, dark and raining.

Thermal blackout privacy curtains separate the cab from the living area. These are also fitted above the kitchen window.

2 x roof vents provide good light and ventilation, along with 2 side windows (one of which can be slid open and shut) they combine to create an open, airy feel to the interior.

THE SAFETY BIT.

This professional, bespoke conversion has been hand built using quality materials by experienced motorhome technicians.

Not only does it look fantastic, but under the surface there have been no corners cut, all the gas and electrics have been installed by qualified tradesmen. The correct wiring, fuse boxes, gas pipes, regulators and ventilation drop outs (floor vents) have been used.

It’s fully insulated, sound proofed and comes with a new habitation certificate showing that everything has been signed off as working correctly and safely.

It also comes fitted with a new fire extinguisher, smoke and CO2 alarms.

THE BASE VEHICLE.

Fiat Ducato 120 Multijet 2.3 120 BHP 6 speed with 80,000 miles. Pulls well and returns 40 mpg. Owned previously by a carpet company who had a 70-mph speed restrictor fitted from new, so it’s had a sheltered life. The restrictor can be easily removed by any modern garage if required.

It drives without fault, and is 100% reliable. Comes with a new 12 month MOT with no advisories.

There is a reversing camera and Parrot Bluetooth in the cab area.

THE LIVING AREA.

FIXED DOUBLE BED.

I wanted to offer a spacious fixed double bed for comfort and also to do away with having to rearrange cushions and furniture each evening and morning. The bed was positioned at the widest point of the camper and fixed running across to make best use of the interior living space available.

GARAGE.

Storage is always an issue when on the road, with many campers limited as to what you can bring with you. No need to compromise here, underneath the bed is a spacious garage with internal access offering 2638 litres of storage space. Ample room for bicycles, luggage, dog cages and anything else you may need to bring. The gas bottle is also located here, situated in a fixed steel safety locker.

A Thetford Porta Potti stows away neatly in a secure base and can be accessed from inside the camper.

HEAT.

An 8kw diesel blown air heater will keep the interior snug and warm in even the coldest of climates operating in temperatures down to -40c. This is fed directly from the fuel tank and has an LCD display control panel with a timer function. The fuel line for the heater has been set up to leave 15 litres of fuel in the tank to prevent accidental drainage.

KITCHEN/DINING.

A Smev 2 ring gas hob with stainless steel sink and tap supplies your cooking and water facilities. With built in glass backsplashes it sits flush into a solid beech worktop.

A 12 litre space-spacing fresh water container with pump is situated in the double cupboard below the sink. The waste water pipe can be dropped directly through the floor or into another plastic container. This gives you the option of being completely self-contained or freeing up extra space in the cupboards below.

A good-sized bench seat with a solid beech island table offers ‘al fresco feel dining’ inside when the sliding side door is open. The table can be quickly removed and stowed away when not in use to free up even more living space.

STORAGE.

This has lots!

Space is always a vital consideration for all campers, and this has an abundance of it.

Above the cab there is a carpeted area able to stow away the dining table and leg when not in use. Two wall mounted cabinets with soft close hinges provide eye level storage with the bedside cupboard housing the ice box which slides out on soft close runners and a storage shelf above. Not forgetting the kitchen cupboards and huge garage below the bed.

Everything you need to camp in total comfort will store away neatly giving you full access to all the living space without any clutter.

UNDER THE SKIN.

POWER.

When off grid a 12-volt leisure battery provides power to the ice box, diesel heater, water pump, LED lighting and USB charge points. This is continuously charged by a solar panel fitted to the roof and will also charge whenever the engine is running.

An external 230-volt mains electric hook up allows you to use mains power when on site, this also charges the leisure battery.

A 230-volt mains socket is situated above the bedside cupboard with another 3 x 230-volt sockets and 2 x USB charging points in the pop-up socket in the kitchen work top.

An inline fuse box shows a digital read out of your leisure battery power as well as providing 2 X USB charging points. The LED downlights and blue strip lights are controlled by separate touch sensitive dimmer switches.

INSULATION.

To keep you snug, warm and condensation free the camper has been fully lined with two materials. The base layer is a moisture resistant double foil aluminium bubble insulation. This is the best material for retaining heat while also preventing condensation. It sends 95% of the radiant heat back into the camper.

On top of this is a layer of Rockwool insulator, this is used to reduce noise and also has thermal and moisture resistant qualities.

In the areas where the cladding ends, we have lined with high quality camper carpet ensuring it is warm and cosy inside.
