Brand new conversion. Ford Transit with off-grid power

Detailed Information
Vehicle Description

2.4 litre 5 speed diesel
MOT til 22/04/2020

Conversion Description

A band new conversion, built to the highest standard. High roof (room for a 6 footer to stand inside), long wheel base.
This project was initially designed for me to live in during a winter season in the alps (hence the high spec finish), but after a dream job offer in the mountains of Japan, unfortunately she needs to go.

Living accommodation aside, the van is in tip top condition. When taken in for it’s latest MOT before the conversion, a transit specialist wanted to buy it on the spot as he had never seen a van half it’s age in such good nick.
The underside is solid as a rock and all the sills are rust free. It’s had a fairly recent respray so the paint looks great. Engine is strong; at 115,000 it’s still fresh, pulls hard and starts first time every time. Comfy, fully adjustable driver and passenger seats; great for covering big miles.
On the roof I have fitted a huge 300w solar panel which fuels 2 brand new 140aH leisure batteries via a top of the range solar charge converter. There is also a 240v hook up and a split charge relay which tops up the batteries when the engine is running. Therefore there is always a source of power for the electronics inside. These include a 38 litre 12v/230v fridge, LED lighting, USB ports and a tap. Cooking facilities are taken care of with a 2 burner hob, fuelled buy an LPG bottle.

The bed is huge and super comfy, it works as a single bed/sofa or with a slide, converts to a massive king size space.
There is tonnes of storage for long trips; in the garage space under the bed, in the cupboards above the driving seats, within the kitchen units and under the seats among others.

Also importantly is the insulation. The roof and floor have 25mm insulation boards and the walls 50mm all wrapped in a second layer of foil bubble wrap type insulation which doubles as a moisture barrier. All leading to a van that’s toasty warm in the winter and keeps cool in the summer.

This van is ready to take you anywhere. The transit is famous for its reliability and low maintenance and the living area has been designed to be functional for long trips.

Any more info or extra pictures needed then feel free to ask. Needs to be seen in person to be truly appreciated.

Thanks for your time!
