Coco is definitely the lightest & brightest campervan that we’ve converted to date! This time we’ve gone for the ‘Boho Beach Hut on Wheels’ vibe, using natural & sustainable eco-materials throughout with lots of bamboo, 100% VOC free paints & natural fabrics + textures. Perfectly balanced as a camper for 2, with 2 belted seats and 2 bed options + heaps of storage, off grid electrics, digital nomad capabilities and roof rack + bike rack – Coco has it all!
Based on the classic (and these days much-sought-after) VW Autosleeper Clubman GL, Coco has had a complete strip down & rebuild from the ground up. Over the last 10 months, we have lovingly & painstakingly built this van with no expense spared, making every effort to do the incredible base van justice. With a little over 40,000 miles on the clock, Coco is hardly run in! The engine has been serviced & checked over, timing belt changed and fresh MOT – this van is ready to give her new owners many, many years of happy adventuring!
Externally the underbody has had a full rust prevention treatment, followed by WaxOyl underbody seal to protect the hardy VW chassis. The renowned GRP Monocoque one piece body is in fantastic condition – along with the original acrylic slider & awning style windows – which along with the Dometic HEKI rooflights let in so much more daylight than a converted panel van! A full respray with hard wearing textured Raptor paint has transformed the exterior, giving a cool retro look to compliment the classic Autosleeper silhouette. Coco is once again a real head turner…
Internally, Coco’s living space has been completely transformed! Starting with the full sound-deadening, insulation & vapour barrier treatment – followed by clean, bright panels in Little Knights 100% VOC free ‘Cotton Flower’ paint on the walls & ceiling. Continuing the tropical cabaña theme, we’ve complimented the soft whites with the striking bamboo flooring, worktops & bamboo feature wall sections. The solid oak handles to the cabinet doors & doors give a touch of class, while the gorgeous neutral tones of the freshly re-upholstered seating & handmade linen curtains bring the whole space together effortlessly.
All of Coco’s onboard systems are of the highest quality. The 5G ready Motorhome WIFI gives anywhere cellular WIFI reception, guaranteeing no blackspots on your travels = perfect for working on the road or posting to the socials. The off-grid electrical system is fully capable of sustaining everything in the van for weeks on end, using solar, battery to battery and/or mains input to charge the huge 216Ah lithium leisure battery. The 38L underslung LPG tank feeds the Truma 4E Combi Boiler for hot water & space heating as well as the roomy 3 burner Dometic hob for all of your cooking needs. A deep bowl stainless steel sink + energy efficient 65L compressor fridge/freezer round off the kitchen appliances.
The internal living space dimensions are incredible for what is effectively a MWB sized campervan. There’s almost 4m in length, 2m standing height and 2m width – much more than you’ll every get from a converted MWB Sprinter or similar! The balance of living areas in the van feels pretty spot on, with the generous wetroom/toilet to the rear, the L-shaped kitchen to the side and the large dinette/lounge to the front – not to mention the additional storage space the cab and overcab offer when parked up!
With a comprehensive rebuild completed from the ground up, Coco is now a truly unique, beautiful and practical camper – ready to give her new owners many years of adventures & happy memories on the road!
Although photographed and described as a camper for 2, the single passenger seat can easily be swapped out for a double bench seat. This would give the van the capability to comfortably & safely accommodate 3, making it the perfect mini-family van. Let us know if this is of interest to you and we can get it sorted…
