What happens when a Land Rover Defender ambulance conversion gets the feminine touch?
Defenders are famed for the epic journeys they have travelled across the globe and their classic shape is instantly recognisable. However, until now, they have not been the go-to choice for a luxuriously comfortable getaway. George is here to change all that. Bernie and Sarah saw an opportunity for an ambulance conversion that was cosy and beautiful as well as a lot of fun to drive!
George hasn’t forgotten his past as an RAF ambulance, with 2 stretchers-come bunks which will easily accommodate even your big kids. The table and benches which can seat four for meals and adventure planning, quickly convert into a double bed for 2 adults.
George is made for an outdoor lifestyle – off-roading and off-gridding are what he loves best (there is a hook-up if you need it) and his clever awning means you can enjoy being outside whatever the weather.

    Where is George?

George lives in a quiet rural Norfolk village called Gissing, just 3 miles off the A140 which runs from Ipswich to Cromer. Norwich is a thriving city with lots to see and do including the beautiful Castle, Cathedral and gardens. Just North of Norwich you can access the Norfolk Broads and beautiful Norfolk Coast. The East Anglian coast has plenty to see and do. Walks along the Coastal paths, seeing the Seal colonies, exploring the fossil beaches at West Runton and Hunstanton (North Norfolk), crabbing on the bridge at Walberswick or catching the rowing boat ferry to Southwold for fish and chips and fun on the pier. East Anglia has plenty to offer from medieval history and bustling Market towns to amazing scenery and laid back pace. Well worth a visit, and there's no better way to explore than in George.
