CleopatraLike her Egyptian namesake, Cleopatra is a stunning beauty. The ultimate romantic setting for a holiday with your Anthony or Antonia, for a unique wedding night, or for quality time in your own company.
Handcrafted by a team of artisans in Devon, south west England, using local and reclaimed materials, you can see the love that’s gone into Cleopatra’s interior: just look at those tiles, the quality of the woodworking, the copper behind the stove, the stained glass, the rich colour palette. There’s even a throne!
Relax in the sumptuous bed and enjoy the view through the horsebox window; concoct a royal feast in the lovely little kitchen; be inspired by the sumptuous colours and the vintage décor.
The original Cleo was Queen of the Nile, of course, but as a “room with 1000 views”, Quirky Campers’ Cleopatra is Queen of anywhere and everywhere that you can imagine to go with her.

Where is Cleopatra?Cleopatra lives in Turnchapel, an old fishing village on the outskirts of Plymouth at the mouth of the River Plym. If you arrive in Plymouth by train, you can travel onwards by regular bus or water taxi. We are ten minutes drive from the A38, with no need to go through the city centre. Plymouth itself is worth a visit – stroll on The Hoe, explore the historic Barbican or eyeball the sharks in The Aquarium. From Plymouth you can catch the ferry to Roscoff or Santander if you are planning a European adventure. Turnchapel is right on the South West Coast Path. The Clovelly Inn serves real ale and large helpings of lovely food. Beaches at Wembury and Bovisand are less than ten minutes drive away. You will be able to leave your car in the free public car park opposite our house. From Turnchapel, you can be in Cornwall in less than half an hour. Check out The Eden Project and The Lost Gardens of Heligan, visit the foodie paradise of Padstow, swim in the turquoise water at Kynance Cove, or catch a wave at Watergate Bay before sampling the delights of Jamie Oliver’s Fifteen. Drive in the other direction for the quirky town of Totnes (twinned with Narnia), beautiful beaches of the South Hams and the magical Burgh Island, inspiration for Agatha Christie. Dartmoor is 20 minutes away, one of the last wildernesses in England. Perfect for walking, wild swimming and romantic weekends, especially in winter. We will show you how everything works. You will find Cleopatra easy to drive with excellent visibility and reverse parking sensors. Hit the road in her and the most stressful decision you will need to make is whether to put the jam or the cream on your scone first.
Customer Car ParkingOff street parking is available: If you are coming by car you are welcome to park it where Cleopatra is usually parked.
Please note parking is provided at your own risk

Travelling with Children
Cleopatra is suitable for travelling with children.
A small baby would tuck into the full size double bed with you comfortably or you could squeeze a travel cot in alongside. We can lend you a pop-up tent for an older child (or Mum or Dad). The stove gets very hot, so a toddler would need watching.
