Built in Scotland using reclaimed whiskey barrels, MacIntyre is a luxurious, spacious option for two people. He’s built for touring but is also perfect for wedding guests or even the happy couple themselves, with a full-length wardrobe to keep fancy clothes uncrumpled plus tons of other storage.

MacIntyre’s name means “son of a carpenter” and the craftsmanship of his makers is evident throughout. It’s not just the impeccable woodwork and warm, calm colours that make him special; it’s also the unique little features such as the copper splashback, handmade mirror and artwork, plus the thoughtful integration of 12v charging points and portable speakers.

The huge bed/sofa, kitchen and dining area are separate from one another for comfort and convenience – plenty of room to get changed and cook the slow food you love. It all just invites you to relax… slow down… and… breathe… out. And if you hire the optional hammock, table and chairs, you can blur that boundary between indoors and outside and take your life right back into nature.
Very cosy, nicely fitted out van. Friendly folks, a pleasure to deal with.

Conversion Story

MacIntyre was built, as his name suggests, in the heart of Scotland, converted from a tyre delivery van. His builders, James and Anita, make their living turning reclaimed whisky barrels into beautiful handmade objects and have used a lot of these skills and barrels in this conversion. Current owner Phil Young has added local artwork from artists at BV Studios where he makes wooden sculptures and keeps MacIntyre.
