Camp Quirky is the UK’s only handmade campervan festival. From campervan galleries, to campervan silversmithing workshops; tiny conversions to gorgeous lutons, you will find all the information, inspiration and stuff you need to equip you to convert your own ‘room with a thousand views’ or just show off the one you’ve already got! But you might have a few questions before you go ahead and buy your ticket, these are the most commonly asked:
Where and when is this handmade campervan festival?
Camp Quirky will take place from 20-22 April on a farm in Newark-on-Trent.
You can see more info about the facilities available on site on our festival webpage.
My campervan isn’t that quirky, can I come?
Also insert ‘it’s not finished’ ‘it’s very small/very big’ etc. The only criteria for entry to our festival is an interest in handmade campervans, and a ticket! No quality control here, come one come all.
Unfinished campers are especially welcome – you will get so much advice and inspiration here so it’s far better if you’re not yet finished.
I don’t have a campervan, can I still come to a campervan festival?
Yes, all welcome! We are expecting lots of people to attend who want to convert a camper in the future, or hire a camper, or just love beautiful craftsmanship, plus festival-lovers, press, bloggers and stallholders.
You can either camp, with your car (what a luxury!), in amongst the campervans, so you won’t be billy-no-mates. Or, you can hire one of our campervans and truly do it in style. Send an email to email@example.com to find up-to-date availability.
What does my ticket cover?
Your £55 ticket covers entry for the whole weekend, camping (please select a free campervan pass if you’re coming in a van to help us plan the site), entertainment, talks and most workshops (some workshops may need to charge to cover materials), kids activities and access to nose around the Quirky Campers campervans.
Plus there will be innovative and beautiful products for campervans on sale and delicious food and drink served from… you guessed it… campervans!
We have made it as affordable as possible without losing money, because we want to keep running it.
What workshops will there be?
- Renting out your campervan with the Quirky Campers Directors
- How to heat your campervan
- Conversion dream to campervan plan with Vansformation
- Long-term van living with The Rolling Home
- Campervan joinery 101 + advanced joinery Q&A
- plus many more to be announced…
- Chainsaw carving demo
- Play the ukulele
- Puppet-making (for kids and big kids)
- Circus skills
- Stained glass
You mentioned some special guests?
Yes, we are delighted to be joined by some of our favourite vanlife friends!
Calum and Lauren from the Rolling Home
Theo and Bea from the Indie Projects
Ellie and Scott of Explorer Buddies
Can I bring my dog?
A limited number (20) of dog tickets were available but they have now all sold out.
Can I get there by public transport?
The site is roughly 3 miles from either of the Newark train stations. Unfortunately we are too small to run a shuttle bus but you could get picked up by a friend or take a taxi.
Will you be running it again next year?
We certainly hope so. But this year is a bit of an experiment so it’s impossible to guarantee anything. We love it but it’s a lot of work so we need to ensure there is an ongoing demand for this sort of event. Given the speed that this year’s early bird tickets have sold out, we suspect that will be the case!
How much are tickets to this awesome handmade campervan festival?
£55 for an adult weekend ticket (early bird tickets have sold out)
£10 for a child weekend ticket
£25 for an early bird day ticket (Saturday only)
Buy them from Eventbrite here or save on fees by buying them directly from us – send an email to firstname.lastname@example.org.
Are you still looking for contributors?
Yes! In fact, here is our wishlist…
- A stall selling beautiful melamine ware
- A vehicle expert to talk about ‘choosing your base vehicle’
